Up-and-coming author looking to self-publish her 1st novel! Join her on this exciting journey that all started with NaNoWriMo 2012.
Dear “Kat People”,
As most of you probably know, last November, I participated in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and, as a result, I have the rough first draft for my very first book!
Now, I’m asking all of you to join me on my quest to self-publish this book through lulu.com. With this Kickstarter campaign, I hope to raise $7,500 in pledges by October 31st - that’s only FOUR weeks away! With the money pledged, I’ll be able to purchase a publishing package that includes professional editing and marketing services, promotional items, a custom designed cover and so much more. On top of that, my book will be available for purchase through lulu.com and other booksellers like Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
There are several different rewards levels ranging from $5 to $150 along with a couple rewards I added for fun and just in case there is someone out there (stranger or otherwise) who has deep pockets and wants to pledge $500 to name a character in my next book or $1,000 to name a character in THIS book. The rewards include different merchandise or just a copy of the book (Signed or Unsigned, Hardcover or Paperback) or just a thank you/shout out on this blog or YouTube channel.
However, the thing about Kickstarter is, if I don’t reach my goal in time, I don’t get ANY of the funds pledged. So, PLEASE, share this link with everyone you know and encourage them to share it with everyone they know. Let’s get this book funded!
It has been a while since I’ve posted one of these, but I’m going to try to write more often, especially since it seems I’ll have more time…
If you’ve read my latest Beauty Blog Post you already know that my mark. business is no more. mark. is merging back with Avon and in order for me to continue to sell mark., I’d have to become an Avon rep. which I’m not planning on doing at this time. But I have until August 8th to make my final decision. If I change my mind, I’ll let you know.
In the meantime, I’m taking this as an opportunity to focus on my more creative ventures (like my blogs) and to work harder at achieving my dreams. This could really be a blessing. It could be the push I needed to really take control of my life. This could be a defining moment in my life. You just never know…
I’m going to try to write more blog posts and have already changed the themes on all 3 blogs I have here on tumblr as a way of turning over a new leaf and focusing more of my attention & energy on my creative outlets.
Well, I guess that’s it for now. I don’t know exactly what’s next for me, but I have high hopes for myself and am very optimistic about my future. I appreciate all the support and prayers I’ve received from my friends & family and would be eternally grateful for more of the same as I go forward in this new stage of my life.
Until next time…
P.S. My continued thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and families of Cory Monteith & Talia Castellano. Such tragic losses; both so young and amazing people.
